Swiss Pillar Files & Checkering Files
All Files are double cut (cross cut) unless otherwise noted

Pillar files are rectangular cross cut files. They're thicker (relative to their width) than other flat files and have a cut surface only on top and bottom (not sides). They taper in thickness (thicker at tang and thinner at end). Available in 5 different types of width and edge, cross cut. Diagrams below:

Checkering files are parallel in width and gently tapered in thickness. Overcut is parallel to the file edges and upcut is 90° to overcut. Useful for putting serrations on knife edges and to obtain a checkered design similar to a gun handgrip.

Valtitan Regular Pillar Files For platinum, stainless steel, exotic plastics and other hard to file materials. The hardest surface known Rockwell hardness 72HRc. Best performance on hard-to-file surfaces. Cut 0 has blunt end. Cut 2 has pointed end.
	Little or no clogging, a simple knock is enough to remove the chips. Highly resistant to corrosion. Swiss.
